The Golden tradition continues for our winery in the Guide of Wines, Spirits and Wineries of Galicia in its 2023 edition.
Here we present you the luxurious medals that we have been awarded in a new edition of this important wine guide.

The Guide of Wines, Distillates and Wineries of Galicia, directed by Luis Paadín – founder partner of Gallaecia, member of AEPEV, member of FIJEV, taster of several qualification panels and international competitions, master of viticulture and enology by the University of Vigo and national champion of the European Contest of Champagne Ambassadors – is considered the most important wine guide in Spain and one of the five best in the world, as ratified by the Gourmand Wine Books Awards.
A Coroa is honored to be again among the best wineries of Galicia. The awarded wines, made with passion, caring and a well measured approach towards naturalness, restrict to the minimum the use of phytosanitary products as confirmed by our stamp of integrated production.

This season the high temperatures and low humidity caused plant resting periods that resulted in a delay in the vegetative cycle. Therefore, the ripening of the grape reached its optimum point at the beginning of September in the earliest plots, having to wait almost until the end of the month to harvest the last ones.
Altogether, although we are facing a warm year, the alcoholic strengths are around last year’s numbers with a slightly lower acidity level, especially caused by warm nights in August.
In this sense, we have wines with good aromatic intensity, a slightly lower note of freshness compared to the last harvest, but with an exceptional balance and volume in the mouth.

In A Coroa we work every day to offer wines of the highest quality, as attested by the quality certificate of Galicia Calidade and Controlled Production – being the only winery worldwide producing Godello that is governed by a production control of its vineyards-.
We are convinced that the quality of a great wine starts in the vineyard. Therefore, and in accordance to our philosophy, all the grapes come solely from vineyards of controlled production, which we supervise to the smallest detail while taking care of the vines and the fruit, being always respectful with the environment.
