A Coroa´s philosophy of production is that “a great wine is made in the vineyard”. Therefore, and faithful to this premise, all the grapes come only from our plots, where we pay attention to the smallest detail in the care of the vines and the fruit, with maximum respect for the environment.
Being the Godello the most emblematic variety of our productions, the following is the wine range we offer you:
A COROA 100% GODELLO – VARIETAL –
This wine is made with grapes from 8 parcels low production and controlled production of A Coroa. The average age of the vineyards, as well as the different altitudes, orientations and heterogeneity of the land, endow the overall result with exclusive mineralization and outstanding complexity.
After the grapes are manually harvested in each of the plots in 14Kg boxes and according to maturation, we proceed to a soft destemming and cold maceration (5ºC). Subsequently, the collection of each vineyard ferments separately in stainless steel vats with controlled temperature.
The result is a harmonious blend in which the nobility of the godello variety appears generous, offering us a fresh and varietal wine. With an excellent balance between alcohol – acidity, A Coroa 100% Godello is a long-lasting and enveloping wine.
A COROA LÍAS – MATURITY –
Wine elaborated with selected Godello grapes from one of our most characteristic vineyards, “A Sobeira”. The plot, located on a gentle slope at an altitude around 450 meters, stands out by its sandy loam soils with pebbles and sediments from the dragging of quaternary water courses.
After the fermentation, Godello A Coroa Lias rest on its lees for 5 moths performing regularly the practice “Batonnage”.
A complex body wine that surprises from the outset and remains in the memory.
A COROA 200 CESTOS – TERROIR –
From A Coroa’s commitment to the region of Valdeorras, and with the vines from which to make the best wines, we offer you this limited edition production depending on the vintage.
200 Cestos is the result of the collection of 100% Godello grapes from our most emblematic vineyard, Valdeaugas. There, 90-year-old vines are combined with new vines carefully selected from our best vineyards.
Located in the municipality of O Bolo, more specifically in the town of Lentelláis and the Bibei valley, the whole plot is arranged in terraces placed at an altitude of 550 to 650 meters.
The granite soils of the vineyard and the Atlantic microclimate that prevails in this area, along with the fermentation in French oak barrels, rest on its lees and subsequent aging in bottle, gives us a wine with a marked mineral character.
A Coroa Godello 200 Cestos is a wine with a noble evolution and a great aging capacity.
A COROA LADEIRA VELLA – SUMPTUOUSITY –
This special wine is a very reduced production of Garnacha Tintorera from century-old vines, of which around 2,500 bottles come onto the market.
It is long and persistent, with a great presence of fruit and an aftertaste in which spicy notes dominate.
A wine of great tipicity elaborated with Grenache grapes from our centennial vineyard “O Rasedo”, of slate soils and very low average production of 1 kg per vine.
It makes the alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks; malolactic fermentation and aging for 12 months in 225 liters French oak barrels. Later it rests in bottle 24 months where it achieves its maximum expression.
An inimitable wine with character and high potential for aging.
Godello: native variety of Valdeorras that has its favorite habitat on the slate-strew hillsides of the valley, with moderate temperature and humidity.
Godello wines are characterized by combining a delicate structure and a varietal expression of accentuated personality and originality. They also have a careful balance between their total acidity and sugar concentration, standing out for their high glyceride content, which gives these wines great smoothness and silkiness in the mouth.
This variety has an excellent evolution in the bottle, as well as a remarkable response to aging in barrels, revealing in both cases its great potential and personality.
Tintorera Grenache: deeply rooted variety in Galicia that reaches its maximum expression when cultivated in plots with plenty of sunlight, especially during the ripening phase. In this regard, the the region of Valdeorras is a preferable place for this variety.
The intensity and concentration of its wines is almost unequalled. Very aromatic and of intense color. These wine are fruity and tend to black and stone fruits with spicy touches, with floral and balsamic notes. They offer a high extract and provide a taste of long presence on the palate, very savoury and voluminous.
These wines present high potential for aging and their international reputation has not stopped growing in recent decades.
