Mundus Vini, one of the greatest wine contest of the international scene, awards A Coroa 2018 with the Gold medal<\/span><\/h4>\n

One more year, and with the firm desire to compete with the best wines in the world in the most prestigious competitions of the sector, we have been rewarded with a Gold medal in Germany.<\/span><\/p>\n

This award in Mundus Vini comes after the gold medal that A Coroa got in the 2016 edition and endorses, in turn, the great expectations that have been placed in a very special harvest.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Godello,<\/p>\n

The Contest<\/span><\/h4>\n

MUNDUS VINI was founded by Meininger Verlag fifteen years ago and has been one of the most important wine competitions in the world. The importance of this competition in Germany, but also in the whole world, is demonstrated by the more than 12,000 wines exhibited in 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n

The target of the competition is to promote quality and the marketing of the wines entered. The awards are intended to offer producers, wine-growers, importers and consumers a forum which, firstly, permits a comparison of wines and offers valuable help with decision-making and orientation when buying wine and, secondly, reaches a wide public. While welcomed by wine customers as a helpful orientation aid, awards provide producers with recognition of their hard work.<\/span><\/p>\n

A highly qualified international jury comprising oenologists, wine-makers, professional wine traders, sommeliers and expert journalists taste the wines, sparkling wines and fortified wines in \u2018blind\u2019 tasting rounds.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wines will be arranged in a tasting according to their product category, origin, quality level and flavor, and evaluated in accordance with the international 100-point scheme of the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV), also recognised by the Union Internationale des oenologues (UIOE).<\/span><\/p>\n

The Wine<\/span><\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

Green tones reflect over a straw yellow, intense, clean and bright.<\/span><\/p>\n

Aromas of white stone fruits, fresh and ripe, coexist with herbaceous notes, citrus aromas and a spicy background.<\/span><\/p>\n

Enveloping and long-tasting. Balanced acidity. It emphasizes a soft and subtle minerality.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 2018 vintage began with a dry autumn and some major frosts in winter. Spring, though, brought abundant rainfall. The vines appreciated the rains, especially after a tough 2017, and the grapes could be optimally nourished. Therefore, we can expect a more balanced wine, more aromatic and longer than other vintages.<\/span><\/p>\n
