Decanter WWA awards Godello A Coroa 2017 with a bronze medal<\/span><\/h3>\n

Decanter World Wine Awards, considered by many experts as the most prestigious wine contest worldwide, has awarded our young godello with its 2018 bronze award<\/span><\/h4>\n

In a competition in which A Coroa 100% Godello has been measured againts wines from around the world, our 2017 vintage has been able to show firmly the character of the godellos, championing the ratings of this variety and becoming creditor of a more than worthy prize, with 87 points.<\/span><\/p>\n

This new medal, the third one intenationally for a vintage that has only been three months on the market, confirms the great reception of our wines in the most important competitions of the sector.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"DECANTER<\/p>\n

At Decanter WWA the wines are organised for tasting by country, region, colour, grape, style, vintage and price. This ensures that wines are judged in flights against their peers.<\/span><\/p>\n

DWWA has judges from around the world, including Masters of Wine and Master Sommeliers, and many of them are the foremost experts in their field. Judging is organised into categories, initially based on region..<\/span><\/p>\n

The judges taste wines individually. They know the region, style and price bracket, but they don\u2019t know who produced the wine or the brand name. They then compare notes on the wine and reach a consensus on each wine\u2019s medal.<\/span><\/p>\n

Medal categories correspond to the 100-point scoring system used by\u00a0Decanter\u00a0and many top wine critics around the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

A Coroa Godello presents a bright straw color, with marked green hues on a thin layer that reminds us of harmonic combinations of Green leafy flowers and shows its careful preparation. Crystal brightness and with an extensive tear.<\/span><\/p>\n

With great transparency of aromas and remarkable intensity, it subtly shows spicy notes that melt with aromas of wild White herbs, citrus notes, tropical fruit, ripe stone fruit and a light aniseed tone that reminds one of fennel. It has a marked vegetal touch on the nose, typical of the variety, and outstanding clean.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fresh in the mouth, with less marked acidity and increasing softness and unctuous smoothness. It is a long wine, marked by its slight bitterness, typical of the great godellos. Subtle retronasal aroma with remarkable touch of white flowers.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 2017 A Coroa harvest stands out for its exclusivity, combining acidity and freshness with higher unctuousness in the mouth. Soft, delicate, of subtle aromas and very pleasant.<\/span><\/p>\n
