Three wines from Adega A Coroa are qualified by Stephen Tanzer as the best Spanish white in 2013 International Wine Cellar.
Stephen Tanzer, who is considered by a large segment of the world of wine specialists as the great Guru with Robert Parker, bet one year more for A Coroa Godello as a reference of white Spanish wines in the international wine industry.
Josh Raynolds tastes the wines and : 200 Cestos 2012 and 2011 have been qualified with 93 and 92 points , respectively , while A Coroa Godello 2012 obtained the score of 91 out of 100.
Tanzer is an American wine critic, editor and publisher of the bimonthly "International Wine Cellars" published since 1985. This publication - which has already soared to the A Coroa Godello in previous editions - employs a wine rating system based on a quality scale that is between 70 and 100 points.
In this sense, Adega A Coroa is carved a niche in the history of one of the industry's most respected publications, getting the best scores and increasing Spanish whites, more if possible, the cache of their wines in the context of large wine Gurus internationally.
These are the wines with the following scores: 93 points for "200 Cestos 2012" 92 points for " 200 racks 2011 " and 91 points for " A Coroa Godello 2012" .
A Coroa 200 Cestos is a very special wine. It is a 100% Godello that comes from one of the best vineyards of the winery. With almost centenarian vines planted in terraces, this wine has an annual circulation of only 2,000 bottles.
In this plot, because of its location, orientation and height, you get the full potential of Godello, underlining the elegance, complexity and traditional aromatic power seeing this variety and enriched by a greater intensity of color, freshness and fruit background.
Appearance: greenish tone very vivid and bright lemony, which broadcasts highlights of freshness and vitality.
Nose: aromatic sensations of fresh grass, yellow plum , white flower ( Honeysuckle) by turning to soft emotions but , in turn , is a warm and mature wine , showing excellent alcoholic potential perfectly assembled with a wonderful citrus acidity ( red grapefruit ) , which keeps a long time.
Palate: The palate has a powerful entry and fatty flavor , active ( citrus jelly , lime) , with much nerve , with bitter fennel , lemon verbena infusion , typical of a great wine and long life and noble evolution in bottle.
It is in its essence a background of granite terroir minerality characteristic of this "great little vineyard".
A Coroa Godello 2012 is presented as a white bold colors and fresh, full of light and glare that evokes spring flower garden with green leaf and yellow perennials clear.
The nose shows warm notes with refreshing and sweet memories, such as elderflower, jasmine and grass, which merge with freshly cut fruit such as pear, apple and mango with a refreshing citrus finish .
The palate hard claw, freshness and vivacity, combining all with the warmth needed to achieve an outstanding balance. It is structured and powerful. Memories of citrus appear, especially grapefruit juice, with its subtle bitterness - that makes a long aftertaste, delicate and very elegant.
